Spring comes to life in the Hudson Valley each year during the Tulip Festival at Mohonk Mountain House. The historic Victorian castle resort, originally established in 1869, hosts a vibrant display of 30,000 tulips as part of its annual celebration of the season. Taking place from April 27 to May 11, the festival fills the resort’s gardens with colorful blooms in shades of red, yellow, pink, and purple—marking one of the most anticipated signs of spring in the region.
Guests staying at the resort can participate in daily morning garden tours led by greenhouse staff, along with seasonal demonstrations and crafts such as creating pressed flower bookmarks and whimsical spring flower crowns. Visitors can also explore curated art installations placed throughout the gardens, created by students from SUNY Ulster.
